Meet Anél Heyman

Anél Heyman is an internationally recognised, award-winning milliner celebrated for her exquisite handcrafted hats and sculptural headpieces. With over 14 years of experience and a background in Visual Communication Design, Anél merges traditional millinery craftsmanship with contemporary design to create wearable works of art.

Her creations are sought after for race days, weddings, fashion editorials, and special events—each piece designed to honour the individuality of the wearer and elevate every moment it’s worn. Known for her attention to detail, bold silhouettes, and modern refinement, Anél's work has captured the attention of stylists, clients, and editors alike.

Alongside her design practice, Anél is also a passionate educator, having taught millinery workshops across Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and beyond. Her commitment to the craft and deep respect for its traditions inspire a new generation of hat lovers and creators.

    HATalk Winner 2021

    HATalk turned 15 this year and, to celebrate, we challenged hat makers everywhere to create an original hat or headpiece inspired by a HATalk article or project for the 2021 HATalk Competition.

  • HATalk Winner 2015

    The 2015 HATalk Hat Making Competition focused on ‘Transition’ and we received over 85 international submissions creatively representing this theme. So many amazing entries and so much talent made choosing a winner of the 2015 HATalk Hat Making Competition a very difficult task for the judges.
