With an education grounded in Visual Communication Design, my interest in millinery stemmed from a 3-day hat-making course that caught my attention.

Choosing a complicated design made me intent on mastering the art of millinery and started me on a journey that included researching techniques, online tutorials, trial and error, and attending as many workshops as possible. I’ve spent over ten years perfecting my skills as a milliner and learning from expert milliners around the world.   

As overall winner of the International HATalk Competition 2015 and 2021, my skills have been challenged at a high standard and I’ve been inspired to push my design and creation skills to new places.

I have a love of learning new skills and pushing myself to embrace new techniques that extend my abilities to create exquisite headwear. I get excited to work with new fabrics and materials as well as using old skills and techniques that are new to me.

I find the challenge of solving problems and the execution of imagination to reality motivating. I particularly enjoy creating hats for people who feel that they don’t suit hats – there is a hat for everyone, and I can make the most of your unique look.  Watching clients receive their pieces and seeing joy and delight register on their faces is a rewarding part of my job. 

I love to make women feel beautiful by taking their outfits to the next level with the flourish of a sophisticated, handmade hat that makes them ‘head’ out with confidence.

My designs can be seen at many fashionable and special events, as well as simply on women who want to look and feel fabulous every day with a hat as part of their outfit.  You may also have seen me, or my work featured in magazines and news outlets.

When I’m not designing hats, you can find me seeking inspiration amongst the beautiful natural environment in Australia, walking with my husband Stephan and dog Mimi, practising new and interesting arts, and sometimes hat-spotting at the races.
